I really wanted to take a moment to myself and write a blog post on work/life balance- truth is, I don’t have one but I’m really trying to create one.  Here’s the thing, I’ve always been good/used to juggling a million things at once, but I think after years of doing it + plus more “real life” responsibilities, it’s starting to get to me.  When you’re building a start up with multiple departments, plus other projects including your personal blog, your plate is a bit full and it’s no Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm work schedule… you’re thinking about everything 24/7 and trying to get everything done.  For me, it’s a constant catch up game right now…

I’m at the office from 8am-6pm everyday and my day typically consists of back to back meetings whether it’s with my business partner or different girls in different departments of the company.  During those in-between times, I try to catch up on emails that are piling up, but I still have so much actual “work work” to do.  The tough thing is that, I barely have time to sit down and think about things- which has been really difficult for me, especially because my job consists of being creative.  Then over the weekend I’m typically shooting for my blog, running errands, or traveling for work! My day flies by so, so fast.

But here’s the thing, I wouldn’t have it any other way! I love what I do, I love being work-a-holic, and I love working towards something.  I love the girls that are in the company and I love how passionate we all are.  That’s what makes me happy.

Okay, hold up though… now let’s take the workload of everything plus the time I need to set aside to spend time with friends, loved ones, and myself.  Those are time that you absolutely need to keep your sanity and to make you happy!  I’ve become really good about putting my phone away or not getting on my computer when I’m spending time with my friends or the boy, so that’s a step into creating that work/life balance.  I have also been reading an amazing book called The Miracle Morning that talks about waking up early and how creating a morning routine can help you with your productiveness, success, health, and relationships!  I’ve been making an effort to go to bed early & wake up early to get things done and have some quiet time to myself- and it’s been going great!

As I mentioned above, I’m really trying to create a work/life balance.  I would love to hear it if you have something you do to create a work/life balance 🙂

We’re headed to San Francisco tomorrow for our Bloguettes workshop this weekend, so I’ll definitely be blogging about that soon!  We are also hosting a free happy hour event, so if you are in the Bay Area, bring a friend and come say hiiii. For more info on the happy hour event click here and RSVP!  Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday xo
