Here we are 2.5 months later! hah. I’m so excited to finally share our newborn shoot + nursery reveal thanks to the famous, Melissa Jill! It took me a while because well, this new mom life is crazy and also because the new website was getting built, but here we are!
Baby girl was 2 weeks old here and I remember being so exhausted and sooo overwhlemed to do this newborn shoot. In my mind, I was not prepared, the nursery wasn’t perfect (still isn’t), I didn’t look or feel good, I didn’t have anything to wear, the house wasn’t clean, it was just A LOT. I remember I chatted with Melissa to cancel this shoot and she talked me out of it, and I am SO glad she did! She told me that all of that is not going to matter and that I will regret not having these photos. I’m now looking at these photos tearing up, because she has gotten so much bigger already and she’s growing up so so fast 🙁 So, DO A NEWBORN SHOOT! I will forever cherish these photos thanks to Melissa. Definitely check her website and instagram out (newborn // wedding)! PS she takes all of her photos in film, which is just so impressive, raw, and real- I love it!
If you also want to know the real reason why I haven’t shared her nursery much, it’s because I’m a perfectionist and put too much pressure on myself and wasn’t 110% proud of it. I just felt like I just threw what I can together and didn’t put all the thought + heart into it 🙁 During the end of my pregnancy, I was so overwhelmed. There was a lot of stress at work, we were doing our kitchen remodel, and all of our finances were budgeted towards the baby and the work on the house, that I didn’t have much to work with. But looking at these photos, I think about how none of that matters, because I have this healthy + beautiful baby girl and the amazing little family that we created.
I love my little family and want time to stop. Life is good.
