Okay, let’s go back to 2006 for a second– who remembers those MySpace bulletin board days where everyone would fill out those fun surveys about themselves? yea, I know I do. I would take 45 minutes from my precious life filling out 120 questions in these surveys that no one probably read except for my “TOP 8” hah. A conversation with one of my girlfriends inspired me to do a post on something like it and share 25 random things you probably didn’t know about me. So… let’s start with the basics. here we go.
- “Sakura” is my real name and it means cherry blossom in Japanese. A perfect segway to fact #2.
- I’m half Japanese & half Irish.
- I was born in San Diego, CA and spent the majority of my childhood (2-10yrs old) growing up in Tokyo. When I was 11 years old, my family and I moved to good ol’ Fallon, Nevada until I graduated from high school. Yes, I was a military brat.
- Proud to be an Arizona State University Sun Devil.
- I was/am a Theta and I loved every second of college.
- I started using Photoshop when I was 12 years old- all thanks to my mama who was a graphic designer at the time. I would use Photoshop & Illustrator to create customized MySpace profiles (LOL).
- I’m a big sister to my best friend, Sumire.
- I hate confrontations, but have learned that it’s necessary at times.
- I have an obsession with lashes. Yes, I have lash extensions- since I was 17! eeeeek.
- My first blog I started was with my best friend, Becca, in college and it was called “The Bestest”. We both were just too busy to keep up with it.
- I have never owned anything with animal prints until this year.
- I can speak Japanese, but I don’t like it when people put me on the spot and ask me to speak it.
- NO plans for kids, but I’ve always wanted to raise my (future) family in Texas.
- Spring is my favorite season.
- I cannot be peer pressured.
- I used to cry to my parents in middle school & high school, because I would get made fun of for my big lips.
- I’m a huge believer in learning to be independent. I think it’s important to be content with being alone.
- I always thought I had a good grasp of knowing who I was until this last year– 2014 was a year of reflection for me.
- I love my grandma more than anything.
- I grew up dancing all my life.
- One talent I wish I had is to be able to sing. When I say that I can’t sing, I mean it.
- I’ve always wanted to go to Bora Bora.
- I love love love kids and although I can most definitely wait, I can’t wait to have a family of my own.
- I’m a workaholic. One way for me to “not work”, but feel productive is pinning on my Pinterest account with a cup of coffee.
- I’ve always had the urge to move to a bigger city one more time in my life, before I settle down.
Well, that was fun. xo
