Our first family vacation to San Diego was exactly what we needed to end the summer! Arizona summers are pretty brutal. We have been couped up inside all summer since the baby was born, so the baby absolutely loved being out and about in such beautiful weather! Our friends, Jake + Mariah, live in San Diego, so we decided to hop in the car and drive 5.5 hours to go hang out with them over the weekend! We were also lucky enough to go to San Diego, as our amazing compact stroller company, Colugo, sent us to document our family trip!

Before I go into what we did and where we went, I first want to tell you all the deets about our amazing Colugo compact stroller!

We’ve had our regular stroller since day one, and we absolutely love it, but I must say, it’s big + hefty. It’s not the easiest to travel when you have a million other things with you! The Colugo compact stroller only weighs 16lbs, and you can fold it open + close with one hand. Over our weekend in San Diego, we were out and about all weekend long, and most of the places were super crowded. The Colugo stroller just made it so easy for us to get around, it didn’t take up too much space, and it was just nice to be able to roll her around in case she got tired! Let me just say, our trip would have looked very different if we didn’t have the Colugo stroller- traveling with a baby is EXHAUSTING. hah. Another reason why I love Colugo is that for a compact stroller, it is very durable and it has a lot of great features that most compact strollers don’t. They have an infant kit for your little ones, I love the window on the roof so I can peak through and see her, they have a lot of storage for a compact stroller, and you can recline it in case your little babe wants to get real comfy. Oh! It’s also a super smooth ride! I can tell you we will only travel with our Colugo stroller in the future!

If you’re interested in purchasing a Colugo stroller use code SAKURA and get $25 off your first purchase for $125 or more! I’m telling you mamas, this stroller is a gamechanger.

Okay, back to our trip!

Okay, back to our trip!

As I mentioned above, we literally did SO MUCH over the weekend. Our friends Jake + Mariah took us everywhere, and we had a blast. As soon as we got there on Friday, we went to Liberty Station, which is just the coolest place. They have multiple restaurants, shops, a market place, and my favorite store, Pigment. Liberty Market is a great place to walk around, and there’s so much to do in one area. I highly recommend checking it out!

On Saturday we went Downtown and went to the Farmer’s Market then walked to Queenstown for brunch! Queenstown was sooo cute, and everything was delicious! Kell and I split the chicken + waffles and the breakfast fried rice. BOMB.COM. We then drove to Ocean Beach and got some drinks and appetizers. After drinks, we drove to the famous + beautiful Balboa Park and just walked around. I was actually born in San Diego at the Naval Balboa hospital right next to Balboa park. My mom always used to tell me that she would take me on walks at Balboa Park, so it was just really cool to be walking around the park with my daughter now 🙂

On Sunday, we were exhausted from the busy day we had the day before that we lounged around all day. Later in the afternoon, we decided to take the baby and the dog out for a stroll out to the water, so we went to a little cove. That evening, we just picked up takeout sushi and just hung out at home!

Before we hit the road back to Phoenix on Monday, we decided to have a family day. We stopped and grabbed the famous, Better Buzz coffee before we head to Coronado. We strolled around the beautiful neighborhood window shopping homes that we would never be able to afford and then we walked over to the Del to enjoy brunch. After brunch, we walked down to the beach to the same exact place where we shot our baby announcement photos and video this time last year. It was surreal. I just couldn’t believe here we are at the same place a year later and how our lives have completely changed. We have this healthy, happy, beautiful baby- and life is just great.

Thank you to Colugo for sending us to San Diego for our first family vacation and making it easy + fun to travel with a baby. And thank you to our friends, Jake + Mariah for sending us. It was a trip we will never forget! xx
