A few weeks ago, my girlfriends and I had a much overdue reunion in Palm Springs and we had the time of our lives. All ten of us were/are sorority sisters (that’s including you, Patrick Ta) and we’ve been a big part of each other’s lives for the last 8 years. We’ve been through so much together- heartbreaks, new jobs, turning 21, engagements, moving, you name it. The best part about our group of friends is that we’ve all been nothing but loving & supportive to one another and though we might not talk all day everyday, nothing has changed at all.
We decided to do our reunion in Palm Springs, because it was centrally located for everyone, except for Amberly who had to fly in from Miami! lol. The house that we rented out was just the cutest mid-century modern home that we found on AirBnB (click HERE for more info on the house). The house was definitely built to accommodate a larger party and it had a total of 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Everything about it was grammable, so I bet you can all imagine I was in heaven. hah. The house is also located right in the heart of Palm Springs, so everything was either a walk or drive away!
As we waited for the entire crew to arrive in Palm Springs, we decided to just hang out at home, drink wine, and catch up on everyone’s lives. We all sat in a circle in the living room and we each took our turn to update everyone on our work life, love life, and just life in general. Just thinking about this night warms up my heart, because all I can think about is how amazing my girlfriends are and how lucky we all are to have one another. The next day we all just lounged by the pool all day and at night we went to dinner at Chi Chi at the Avalon hotel. The restaurant was a perfect place to accommodate our big & very loud group and the food was soooo good! I highly recommend it.
We had booked a cabana for the next day at The Parker Hotel, but we ended up leaving within 30 minutes because customer service was absolutely awful and the staff treated us badly. I had never experienced anything like it and we all were so bummed because we have been looking forward to this for months! We ended up just going back to the house and had a better time than we probably would have at The Parker! On the last day we all just lounged by the pool and we decided to do family dinner on the patio. We all ran some errands and went to the grocery store for dinner that night. We’re lucky enough to have our personal chef, Becca, that cooked up a delicious meal and we all had a blast wrapping up the weekend enjoying a home cooked meal over reminiscing our college days.
As weird as it sounds, this weekend was kinda like therapy for us. We all left feeling so incredibly happy, motivated, and inspired by one another. We are only going to get busier as we get older, so we all made a promise to each other that this is something we are going to do every year from here on out- and we deserve a girls weekend every year for our sanity! I look back to this weekend and can only hope that my future daughter will have a group of girlfriends as amazing as mine. Looking forward to many more reunions! xo
